Job Title: Telesales Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic Telesales Representativeto contribute in generating sales for our company
  • You will be responsible for closing sales deals over the phone and maintaining good customer relationships.
  • An effective telesales representative must be an excellent communicator and have superior people skills
  • They must be comfortable presenting products or services over the phone as well as dealing with complaints and doubts.
  • The goal is to help the company grow by bringing in customers and developing business.

Responsibilities

  • Initiating sales with potential customers over the phone.
  • Asking questions to engage customers and keep the conversation going.
  • Listening to the customers’ needs to generate repeat sales.
  • Gathering and documenting customer information, payment methods, purchases, and reactions to products.
  • Keeping up to date on all products and informing customers of new products.
  • Answering customers’ questions on the products.
  • Meeting sales quotas.
  • Introducing the organization’s products or services to customers in order to follow up with further steps of the sales process
  • Carrying out market research on how to address customers
  • Preparation of sales reports and caparisons of competitors’ offer conditions
  • Contact potential or existing customers to inform them about a product or service using scripts
  • Ask questions to understand customer requirements and close sales
  • Direct prospects to the field sales team when needed
  • Enter and update customer information in the database
  • Take and process orders in an accurate manner
  • Handle grievances to preserve the company’s reputation
  • Keep records of calls and sales and note useful information.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Marketing or any other related field.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience as Telesales Representative or similar customer service or sales role.
  • Ability to stay professional and focused in stressful situations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong customer-orientation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work towards strict targets.
  • Apealing appearance on the phone.
  • Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quota preferably over the phone.
  • Good knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software) and telephone systems.
  • Ability to learn about products and services and describe/explain them to prospects.
  • Cool-tempered and able to handle rejection.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues and address complaints.
