The incumbent has to collaborate with the Nigeria Country Director and FHI360 Headquarters Global Security Department, and will be in charge of a thriving security team in Nigeria.
The security manager will offer assistance to various FHI 360 employees in all states in Nigeria, whose work comprises of development and humanitarian work in multiple sectors via security networking, danger examination, security inspections, and the improvement and execution of countrywide security and emergency plans.
Task / Responsibility
>> Supervise country/region Security Risk Assessments to deduce degree of danger for staff and projects.
>>Creating strategies – annual Country Security and Emergency Action Plans – according to FHI360 organizational policy.
>>Helping out in the procedures and management of a Security Management Team and giving recommendations to the Country Director and Headquarters Global Security on security issues in Nigeria.
>>Oversee junior security staff which includes : (1) Regional Security Coordinator, (~3) Security Officers and up to (~30) Security Focal Points.
>>Guaranteeing the execution and enforcement of these security policies.
>>Collect, compile and examine security threat information.
>>Precise situation inspections and suggestions for action during security occurrences.
>>Create effective relationship with security departments at other INGOs, UN, diplomatic missions, USAID’s Partner Liaison Security Operations (PLSO) and vendor security information providers.
>>Coordinate security, first-aid, fire, HEAT, and other crisis trainings and practices as well as security briefings for incoming staff and specialists.
>>Applicants should have Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Administration or Similar Field.
>>Applicants must have at least 8+ years of security experience in corporate or government organizations or military asset protection programs.
>>Proven experience with carrying out security techniques, policies, procedures and principles.
>>Proven experience with risk management and contract and vendor negotiations.
>>Eloquent, competent and able to address in a precise, optimistic manner with clients and staff.
>>Previous work in a non-governmental organization (NGO)
>>Minimum of five years’ INGO or other Humanitarian security experience.
>>Comprehensive management, training, and supervisory understanding.
>>Fluent in English. Have knowledge of some local dialects.
>>Should be able to work on emergency situations during off-hours.
>>Should be conversant with VHF radio.
>>Should be conversant with Microsoft Office 365 (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail), office telephone, cell phone and printer/copier.
