The Federal Government has authorized Batches A and B beneficiaries of the N-Power Programme who were previously exempted from the payment of their stipends to report to their various state focal persons for confirmation and revalidation.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, passed the command in Abuja on Tuesday.
She asserted that actions to fix unpaid stipends denied due to dissimilarities in records of the beneficiaries were nearly finalized.
She explained that inquiries made by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation following the omission of some N-Power beneficiaries from payment of stipends reflected that some of the affected individuals were also receiving stipends from other Federal Government agencies.
The minister, however, authorized that chances have been given to the affected beneficiaries to confirm and re-validate their eligibility so that eligible beneficiaries could be paid for their participation in the N-Power Programme.
“Beneficiaries are hereby directed to report to their State Focal Persons immediately with their bank account details, including bank statements from March 2020 to date, NYSC Discharge Certificates, birth certificates and other related screening documents,” Umar-Farouq added.
She disclosed that the deadline for confirmation would be October 13, 2020.
The minister said beneficiaries who refuse to show up for the verification exercise would lose their stipends.
