The news about Asuu Strike is coming after the Academic Staff Union of Universities meeting held Wednesday, 11th December 2019.
Asuu has threatened to commerce nationwide strike if the federal government tries to force IPPIS on university lectures.
The union has stated that asuu will not are embrace the federal government IPPIS system.
The ASUU National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi said that asuu has designed a prototype of the IPPIS system.
The University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) is what assu wants to use instead of IPPIS.
According to Ogunyemi, the UTAS will focus more on the flexibility of the payroll and personnel management of the University system.
Ogunyemi said he appreciates the efforts of all the asuu members nationwide for not welcoming the idea of the IPPIS. He said the accountant general of the federation is trying to cunningly migrate them.
“As resolved at the ASUU-NEC meeting at FUT Minna, should the Accountant-General make bold his threat of stopping the salaries of our members, the union shall activate its standing resolution of “No Pay, No Work.
“NEC did not only reiterate its unequivocal rejection of the IPPIS as an ill-wind that will blow the Nigerian university system no good, it also resolved that no amount of blackmail, intimidation and outright misinformation of the Nigerian public will make ASUU lose focus on its historic role as the conscience of the university system.

The union has threatened to a “no work no pay” which simply means that asuu strike will commence soon if the federal government delays to look into this issue.
